If you own a knife other than a Dunn Knife, sharpening charges range from $1.00 to $6.00 (plus shipping and handling), depending on the difficulty of sharpening and condition of the blade. You can see us at a show or mail your knives to the address above.

Dunn Sharpening System

This is quite honestly the easiest and fastest way to sharpen any knife made today, stainless and 440V included. Average sharpening time is 2-3 minutes. The basic kit consists of two precision-turned paper fiber wheels, each 8” in diameter and ¾” thick. One wheel is coated with abrasive, and buffing compound is applied to the other slotted buffing wheel prior to buffing the edge on each blade.

To use, grind the blade initially by using an equal number of passes on each side of the edge until a distinct burr appears the full length of the edge. Next, remove the burr on the slotted buffing wheel. Buff in the manner as you originally ground the blade. When grinding, copy the original angle of the edge. Your goal is to have the edge form a perfect 20-degree angle. When you have completely removed the burr through buffing, you will have a razor-sharp, hair-lifting edge on the blade. The time it lasts is indicated by the quality of the blade.

The sharpening system is available with motor and wheels, or you may purchase just the wheels with extra abrasive and buffing compound. Available for purchase separately are the abrasive and buffing compound.
